Job summary

The Haematology Laboratory at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Biomedical Scientist (Band 5) to join the Haematology & Blood Transfusion team. You will rotate across Haematology, Coagulation and Blood Transfusion, based at Eastbourne District General Hospital with cross-site work as required.

We offer full-time hours (37.5 per week) with a 24/7 shift rota and ongoing professional development in a supportive Trust environment.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with Haematology/Transfusion experience.
• Experience in NHS Haematology/Transfusion or IBMS training approved labs.
• Familiar with Apex Computer System and automated analysers.
• Committed to continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through Haematology, Coagulation and Blood Transfusion.
• Work across Eastbourne and Conquest Hospital as needed.
• Participate in 24/7 shift rota.
• Support QA and compliance to UKAS 15189.
