Job summary

Illumina, Inc in the United Kingdom is seeking a Sr. Bioinformatics Scientist to develop algorithm specifications and analytical approaches for NIPT product development.

You will collaborate with assay development, regulatory and bioinformatics teams to design, execute, and analyse experiments. You will validate and verify IVD clinical genomic products, apply statistical methods, document workflows, and communicate progress to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• PhD required in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, mathematics, or related field.
• Strong analytical problem solving with ability to collaborate across teams.
• Experience with Python and/or R for genomics workflows.
• Familiarity with NIPT and clinical genomic products is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop algorithm specifications and analytical approaches for NIPT product development.
• Collaborate with assay development, regulatory, and bioinformatics teams to design, execute, and analyse experiments.
• Conduct validation and verification activities for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) clinical genomic products.
• Document, present, and maintain bioinformatics workflows to quality standards.
• Apply statistical and computational methods to solve complex challenges in product development.
• Communicate project objectives and outcomes clearly to stakeholders across functions.
• Utilise Python and R to develop and improve bioinformatics workflows.
