Reporting to the Products Operations Manager, you will be part of an ambitious Operations team with a large portfolio and solid experience within the Biofuels market.

This position requires close collaboration and commercial decision making alongside a range of key stakeholders. Ideally, you will have previous exposure and demonstrable experience delivering successful operations of a similar nature and scale. The successful individual must also have excellent communication skills to interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and be capable of adhering to strict project timelines.

The role is available immediately and presents a significant opportunity to create an immediate and measurable impact within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • - End-to-End Trade Execution – Manage biofuel and feedstock operations from trade inception to completion, ensuring purchases, sales, cargo movements and contractual obligations are executed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with agreed terms.
  • - Product, Cargo and Marine Operations – Co-ordinate the movement, storage and delivery of HEFA-SPK, HVO, FAME and relevant feedstocks. Manage complex multi-grade cargo loadings and vessel stowage plans, ensuring product compatibility, segregation, quantities and loading sequences are appropriate. Oversee vessel acceptance, voyage instructions, inspections, loading and discharging, promptly escalating operational issues.
  • - Blending and Technical Product Specifications – Demonstrate a strong understanding of the technical specifications, properties and quality parameters of HEFA-SPK, HVO, FAME and relevant feedstocks. Assess blending requirements, component compatibility, blend ratios and product constraints to ensure finished products meet contractual specifications, customer requirements and applicable industry standards. Liaise with suppliers, terminals, laboratories and inspectors to resolve technical issues and investigate off-specification product.
  • - Blending Control and Reconciliation – Co-ordinate and monitor blending activities, ensuring component volumes, blend calculations, product yields and finished product specifications are accurately recorded and reconciled. Investigate discrepancies, identify potential quality or operational risks and ensure blending records provide a clear audit trail.
  • - Sustainability and Regulatory Compliance – Take operational ownership of biofuel sustainability requirements, ensuring relevant feedstock origin, sustainability characteristics, certification and chain-of-custody information are verified and maintained. Ensure appropriate Proofs of Sustainability (PoS) and supporting documentation are available and comply with applicable legislation, certification schemes and company procedures.
  • - Sustainability Traceability and Reconciliation – Maintain traceability of sustainability attributes from feedstock sourcing, where applicable, through receipt, storage, blending and final sale. Reconcile sustainability information against physical volumes, blending records, purchases and sales, investigating discrepancies and ensuring sustainability claims are appropriately supported and auditable. Liaise with the Sustainability Manager on regulatory interpretation, certification and reporting requirements.
  • - Systems, Stock and Data Integrity – Maintain accurate and timely records across SAP, Symphony, the Biofuels Inventory Tool and other relevant systems. Ensure contracts, purchases, sales, individual cargo movements, truck liftings, stock positions and blending activities are correctly recorded and reconciled.
  • - Financial Security and Credit Compliance – Ensure required financial security arrangements, including prepayment, Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs) and Documentary Letters of Credit (Documentary LCs), are in place and valid in accordance with contractual terms and approved credit arrangements before relevant cargoes or deliveries proceed. Monitor documentation, payment conditions and expiry dates, escalating potential unsecured exposure.
  • - Commercial and Financial Control – Verify trade-related calculations, including freight, demurrage, product quantities and values, inspection costs, gains and losses, insurance and additives. Check invoices, minimise profit leakage and identify opportunities to recover costs or pursue claims.
  • - Claims and Contractual Compliance – Manage and support operational claims relating to demurrage, delays, quantity or quality discrepancies, losses and other contractual matters, maintaining appropriate supporting evidence.
  • - Operational Risk Management – Identify, investigate and resolve complex operational, technical, sustainability, credit and systems issues. Assess potential commercial and operational impacts and elevate material risks promptly.
  • - Stakeholder Management and Leadership – Build effective working relationships with Trading, Supply, Finance, Credit Control, Sustainability, suppliers, customers, shipping companies and terminals. Provide operational guidance and share technical knowledge with colleagues.
  • - Documentation and Continuous Improvement – Maintain accurate and accessible records of contracts, cargoes, blending activities, sustainability documentation, financial security instruments, inspections and invoices.
