Job summary

Bennett and Game are recruiting a Bid Writer to join their Pre-Construction Team, supporting tender submissions for a soil and groundwater remediation contractor with turnover of £15 million.

You will work with Estimators, Project Managers and the team to translate technical information into clear, compelling proposals, with hybrid working from Essex, Avonmouth, or Stoke offices and flexible part-time options.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Bid Writing, Proposals or similar in remediation/earthworks/civil engineering.
• Strong ability to translate technical information into clear, persuasive content.
• Excellent written communication, organisation and deadline management.

Responsibilities

• Write, edit and format bid responses in line with tender requirements.
• Interpret tender documents (Phase 1/2 reports, GI logs, remediation strategies) to extract key information.
• Coordinate with estimators, project managers and the pre-construction team for inputs.
• Produce Scoping Letters, Method Statements, Programmes and narrative bid elements.
• Prepare content for PQQs, ITTs, capability statements and other bid documents.
• Maintain and update the bid library with case studies, CVs and standard responses.
• Attend client meetings (on-site, office or virtual) to capture project requirements.
• Ensure submissions are professional, compliant and delivered on time.
• Support Business Development and Marketing with written content as needed.
• Guide junior bid team members on writing standards and formatting.
