About the Role

EG Group is expanding and we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team on a full-time basis at our head office. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, a deep understanding of business processes, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Our department is the central point of data for the business, supporting various functions and not tied to any specific department. The focus is on developing and maintaining Business Intelligence products and platforms, with an emphasis on Power BI, SQL, and Python. The team works Agile assisted by Azure DevOps.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Analysing complex datasets to understand structures, schemas, and extract meaningful insights
• Developing and maintaining business intelligence reports and dashboards
• Collaborating closely with various teams on projects, ensuring accurate definition, and application of business logic
• Constructing and optimising tabular and semantic models. Perform data ingestion and ETL using Python packages and SQL Server processes, including stored procedures, functions, and jobs
• Conducting specific analyses to support decision-making and perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) for data verification and validation
• Guiding junior analysts, fostering best practices in data analysis
• Contributing to the development and enhancement of BI products
• Actively push the team towards innovation and optimisation, ensuring constant progression and continuous improvement

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in a business intelligence or data analysis role
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python
• Extensive experience in Power BI - DAX, configuration, UI/UX, and report design. Power BI deployments, using XMLA endpoints to automate tasks.
• Proficient in conducting Root Cause Analysis to uncover underlying issues and implement systematic process improvements
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and technologies (Desirable)
