Job summary

We are recruiting for a Senior Bench Hand Joiner in Leicestershire to lead a small team in a bespoke furniture workshop. You will oversee four joiners, allocate workloads, and ensure high-quality manufacture of furniture. This hands-on senior role requires reading technical drawings and mentoring the team to meet deadlines.

The role offers stability with a permanent position and standard Monday–Friday hours, in a workshop focused on precision and craftsmanship.

• Proven experience as Bench Hand Joiner or similar.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Organised and able to manage workloads and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate a team of four joiners.
• Allocate daily workloads and monitor progress.
• Lead by example and maintain high standards of workmanship.
• Manufacture, assemble and finish bespoke furniture to a high standard.
• Read and work accurately from technical drawings and specifications.
• Measure, cut and shape timber and other materials using hand tools, power tools and machinery.
• Carry out quality checks throughout the production process.
• Provide practical guidance, support and mentoring to team members.
• Identify and resolve production or quality issues.
• Liaise with management regarding workload, materials and deadlines.
• Ensure safe working practices and workshop procedures are followed.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop.
• Assist with material handling and general workshop duties where required.
