Job summary

Eaglecliff is seeking a Beacon Developer with a strong Python background to join a world-leading Energy Trading firm at Canary Wharf. You will contribute to TRMS, developing front and back-office trading applications using Beacon Dependency Graph and Glint, while maintaining code quality and teamwork.

The role offers progression to lead teams, design complex systems, mentor others, and collaborate with internal and client teams. Office-based role in London with a focus on software excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field required.
• 4+ years of software development experience using Python or other OOP languages.
• Experience with trading and risk management solutions is desirable.
• Ability to design and build customer-facing applications/components.
• Self-starter who thrives in a SaaS environment and values client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain quality code that is simple, well-structured, clear, and well-tested.
• Break down complex problems, conduct research, and collaborate with peers.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients.
• Gather and analyse requirements and product enhancements with clients.
• Participate in code reviews and provide technical feedback.
• Ensure strong automated testing across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end tests.
• Mentor new and less-experienced team members.
• Lead design discussions and advocate for performance, scalability, reliability, and security improvements.
• Coordinate with other teams for successful integration and resolve production incidents.
