We're expanding our footprint in the UK education sector and are looking for an experienced Senior BDR to drive lead generation and relationship building across Multi-Academy Trusts and Independent Schools.

Job Summary:

The Senior Business Development Representative will play a critical role in generating qualified pipeline for PLANERGY's sales team by targeting Finance Directors, CFOs, and Business Managers in Multi-Academy Trusts and Independent Schools.

You’ll be responsible for cold outreach, discovery conversations, and booking demos with senior finance stakeholders. You’ll also continue managing the relationship post-demo, ensuring strong handover and continued engagement—without needing to close deals yourself.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify target prospects within MATs and Independent Schools across the UK
  • Conduct outbound outreach via email, phone, LinkedIn, and relevant platforms to drive discovery and book product demos
  • Engage in intelligent, value-based conversations with senior finance leaders
  • Educate prospects on PLANERGY’s value proposition in spend control, automation, and financial oversight
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with prospects after demos to ensure follow-up, feedback, and progression
  • Collaborate closely with Account Executives and Marketing to improve messaging, campaigns, and conversion rates
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM, track KPIs, and report progress weekly

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in B2B business development or outbound sales, ideally in EdTech, SaaS, or the education sector
  • Strong understanding of UK education procurement structures—particularly MATs and Independent Schools
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in engaging with senior financial stakeholders
  • Highly organised and proactive with a results-driven mindset
  • Familiarity with outbound prospecting tools (e.g. HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator)
  • Able to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally with sales and marketing

Preferred:

  • Experience selling to finance professionals or within the public sector
  • Understanding of procurement software, AP automation, or Spend Management
