Job summary

AIS is seeking a Battery Test Engineer in Aberdare to support automotive and energy sector testing. The role covers setup and execution of complex test procedures, reporting results clearly, and collaboration with engineering teams to ensure requirements are met.

You will analyze data with standard tools, work with high voltage DC systems, and contribute to safe, efficient testing operations while maintaining quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• BSc in engineering or equivalent with professional qualifications.
• Experience designing, testing and building battery test solutions.
• Experience with electronics and test equipment for battery systems.
• Experience with CAN communications and vehicle logging systems.
• Ability to perform data analysis with standard automation tools (Vector, MATLAB/Simulink, C, Excel).
• Qualified to work on high voltage DC automotive systems.

Responsibilities

• Set up and execute complex, established testing procedures and engineering services.
• Prepare and deliver clear, accurate reports on test results.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure test setups and requirements alignment.
• Provide technical expertise to line management for new operational capabilities.
• Deliver timely information to support project management.
• Maintain high health and safety standards and develop new procedures.
• Participate in customer testing to deliver reliable results and insights.
