MCS Group | Your Specialist Recruitment Consultancy in Belfast is helping a well-established technology company grow its engineering team by hiring a Senior Software Engineer to work on large-scale applications and services.

This hands-on role involves TypeScript, microservices, Docker and Kubernetes, AWS, and shaping design and architecture. You’ll own projects, mentor peers, and collaborate with product teams in a hybrid Belfast setup (3 days in the office).

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Proficient with TypeScript and microservices architectures.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with AWS or other major cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of software design and architecture.
• Interest in building reliable, scalable software.

Responsibilities

• Developing and improving large-scale software applications.
• Working across backend services with some full-stack exposure.
• Getting involved in technical design and architecture.
• Working with modern cloud and container technologies.
• Helping improve development practices and engineering standards.
• Working closely with other engineers, product and technical teams.
• Taking ownership of projects and seeing them through from idea to delivery.
• Supporting and mentoring other developers where appropriate.
