Holiday Extras is seeking a hands-on technical leadership figure to manage a small engineering team in Kent. You will blend deep backend expertise with people leadership to boost quality and growth, while steering a shift toward deeper Node.js/TypeScript backend work as AI reshapes our platform.

You will collaborate with Product, Delivery, Commercial, Data, and partners to set technical standards, mentor engineers, and champion AI-powered tooling to raise productivity and code quality.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and line-managing engineers.
• Strong backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Ability to mentor, coach, and grow engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and line manage a small team of engineers, owning their development and performance.
• Define and champion best practices for Node.js and TypeScript backend development.
• Set the technical direction for your team and domain with sound architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with Product, Delivery, Commercial, and Data teams and partners.
• Drive a culture of technical excellence and mentorship, and champion AI tooling to improve productivity.
