Job summary

your Jared is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and own scalable backend services in a fintech environment. Focused on Node.js and TypeScript, you will work with AWS serverless tech and build resilient APIs while shaping architecture and production reliability.

This remote, outside IR35 12-month contract offers genuine autonomy, opportunities to influence platform direction, and collaboration with product and ops teams.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience in regulated FinTech or financial services environments.
• Hands-on senior engineering with ownership across full lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate reliable, scalable backend services.
• Own areas of the platform, including architecture and technical direction.
• Build resilient APIs and distributed systems in a regulated environment.
• Work with AWS serverless tech (Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, API Gateway).
• Work with MongoDB and document databases.
• Contribute to CI/CD, observability, incident management and production support.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Operations to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards.
