The role focuses on leading backend service design for high-performance distributed systems, owning technology decisions, and advancing modern development practices within a product-driven environment.

Qualifications

• End-to-end development experience
• Experience building developer frameworks/workflows
• Python experience considered advantageous
• Autonomous, self-starting approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Payments domain knowledge to optimize merchant experience
• Willing to work remotely from Poland, Portugal, Hungary, Romania or South Africa

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of core backend services for high-performance distributed systems
• Own key technology decisions and drive scale and output
• Promote and apply BDD/TDD practices
• Create clear, modern, well-tested code
• Collaborate across teams in a product-driven environment
• Conduct code reviews and continuously improve processes
• Create detailed internal documentation for projects
