Job summary

Rightmove is seeking a software engineer to design and deliver new features in a hybrid London-based team. You’ll work on in-house apps and microservices, collaborating with product and engineering to balance performance and scalability.

You'll lead complex projects, champion TDD and modern CI/CD practices, and mentor junior engineers while driving incremental improvements to the Rightmove platform for millions of users and thousands of agents.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Java 21+ and Spring Boot.
• Experience leading complex projects with multiple engineers.
• Deep understanding of TDD and pipeline optimisation.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building new features and enhancements using Java 21+, Spring Boot, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Gradle, Hibernate, Couchbase, SQL, and Docker.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to shape solutions and priorities.
• Taking ownership of technical decisions and delivering projects end-to-end.
• Mentoring junior engineers and promoting a culture of growth and quality.
