Job summary

Luxoft Germany is seeking an experienced backend engineer to join the Equity Accelerator programme in London. You will design, build, and evolve scalable backend services for trading and post-trade platforms using Java and Kotlin in JVM ecosystems.

You will work on event-driven, cloud-native architectures, contribute to architecture decisions, and maintain high-quality delivery through TDD, CI/CD, and strong collaboration with business stakeholders in the equities domain.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Java development experience
• Kotlin experience or willingness to learn Kotlin
• Hands-on capital markets experience, especially trade lifecycle and post-trade processing
• Proven experience building event-driven distributed systems
• Deep understanding of messaging concepts (ordering, resiliency, replay, failure handling)
• Strong TDD practices with end-to-end ownership of quality
• Solid experience in Agile delivery, CI/CD, and trunk-based development
• Understanding of trade booking, position management, settlement, accounting, and cashflows
• Strong system design and architectural decision-making skills
• Ability to operate autonomously in complex, business-critical environments

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services for trading and post-trade platforms
• Build scalable event-driven applications and messaging-based integrations
• Develop services using Kotlin and Java within JVM ecosystems
• Contribute to architecture design and technology decisions
• Ensure software quality through TDD and reliable data processing, replay, and recovery
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines and frequent production deployments
• Analyze and resolve complex production and performance issues
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders across the equities domain
• Drive technical excellence and mentor other engineers
• Apply deep understanding of capital markets workflows to solution design
