Job summary

Montu in Reading, UK, is seeking a senior software developer with a backend focus to join a growing engineering team. You will work with TypeScript, NestJS, PostgreSQL, and AWS Lambda to build scalable products that support patient care.

This is a hybrid role based in Reading with an expectation of three days per week in the office. You will shape architecture, collaborate across cross-functional teams and contribute to an industry-leading product.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in software development.
• Backend-focused with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems and APIs.
• Proficient with AWS services including Lambda, RDS and SQS.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect and build scalable, high-performance applications using modern technologies.
• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js, TypeScript and NestJS.
• Build and enhance cloud infrastructure using AWS, ensuring security, scalability and reliability.
• Own solutions from discovery through to delivery, monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to solve complex business problems.
• Contribute to technical design, code reviews and engineering best practices.
