Job summary

Wise is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Global KYC and Onboarding squad in the Servicing department, building scalable microservices and compliant verification systems across the globe. You will own the technical roadmap, design robust backends, integrate with risk systems, and collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to deliver fast, reliable verification for customers.

The role offers a starting base salary of £87,500–£111,000 plus RSU in a hybrid London

Qualifications

4+ years of experience with Java 8+, Spring and asynchronous queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
Experience architecting and building highly scalable microservices.
Strong product mindset and customer-focused approach.
Excellent communication with cross-functional teams.
Commitment to clean, testable, high-performance code.
Experience with relational and non-relational databases and data lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

Own the technical roadmap for your domains, addressing debt, reliability, scalability and security.
Design and implement robust backend systems with clean APIs.
Drive integration with risk and mitigation systems to ensure compliance.
Identify and solve impactful problems across teams and mentor others.
