Job summary

tem is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Pricing, to join the Pricing squad behind the pricing engine of RED, tem's modern utility product. You will design and ship core slices of the Pricing API that price real energy contracts for businesses buying electricity and generators selling it, ensuring correctness and speed in pricing decisions.

The role is backend, data-heavy with a quant-y flavor. You will drive pricing accuracy, observability, and a clear rationale when pricing cannot be

Qualifications

• Production backend Python experience with APIs in production or on-call ownership.
• Familiarity with FastAPI, SQL, and data-heavy systems where numeric correctness matters.
• Experience with end-to-end project ownership and collaboration with tech leads.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship core components of the Pricing API from design to production.
• Consolidate pricing logic into a single service with stable pricing behavior during migration.
• Build detection and alerting to catch bad or slow prices before customers see them.
