Job summary

Trustonic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Backend to join a collaborative team developing and operating our cloud platform that underpins secure services for millions of devices globally.

You will design and deliver scalable, secure backend solutions on AWS, working closely with Product, QA, and DevOps to set technical direction and ensure high standards of reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Proven commercial experience building Python-based AWS Lambda services in production.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL schema design and DynamoDB patterns.
• Experience with event-driven architectures: SQS, SNS, Step Functions, DLQ and retry patterns.
• Hands-on AWS infrastructure: Serverless Framework, Terraform, ECR, IAM.
• Experience deploying Docker container-based Lambda functions.
• Knowledge of Airflow DAGs and PySpark/Glue ETL is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, debug, and deliver cloud-native features across Trustonic's platform.
• Develop and enhance AWS-based microservices with Lambda, SQS, API Gateway, and AppSync integrations.
• Build reliable backend services in Python and support event-driven processing for high-scale operations.
• Collaborate with QA and product teams to improve release quality, performance, and resilience of services.
• Lead or participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews for backend services.
• Implement SDLC best practices: requirements refinement, testing, CI/CD, observability, production support.
• Diagnose production defects and performance bottlenecks across distributed systems.
• Provide incident response support and post-incident improvements for AWS workloads.
