Own backend solutions end to end: understand the business problem, shape the requirements, design the solution, build it, test it, deploy it and run it in production.

Qualifications

• Experience owning backend services in a microservices architecture.
• Strong knowledge of HTTP, WebSockets, and AMQP usage.
• Fluency in at least one modern backend framework.
• Deep understanding of relational DBs, indexing, transactions, and high-performance design.
• Track record designing systems for availability, scalability and resilience.
• Clear, structured problem-solving and the ability to explain trade-offs.
• Solid engineering fundamentals and confidence with unfamiliar tech.

Responsibilities

• Own backend solutions end to end from problem to production.
• Design services for performance, scale, resilience and data integrity.
• Make well-reasoned technical decisions and balance trade-offs.
• Keep code and systems maintainable as requirements evolve.
• Diagnose production issues and prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to translate requirements.
• Review work and raise engineering standards across the team.
