Job summary

Verda is building a fully featured European cloud computing platform powered by 100% renewable energy. The role focuses on back-end engineering, IAM technologies, and scalable microservices within a hybrid work model in London or Helsinki.

You will shape Verda’s IAM platform, work on large-scale resource planning systems, and collaborate with SREs and data-center teams. A strong emphasis on Go, TypeScript, RESTful APIs and TDD guides daily work.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as a Back-end engineer.
• Strong knowledge of IAM and related technologies (OAuth 2.0/2.1, OIDC, SAML 2.0, JWT, RBAC, ReBAC, MFA, TOTP, Passkeys, FIDO2).
• Proficiency with Go, including web APIs, concurrency and caching.
• Experience with TypeScript (Node & React).
• Experience with designing, building, and maintaining micro-service architectures and workflows.
• Proficiency in SQL databases and designing scalable data models.
• Experience with maintaining public RESTful APIs.
• TDD-based way of working with testcontainers-like setups.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and DevOps practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Shaping Verda’s IAM platform and its evolution across products.
• Work on large-scale resource planning systems and internal tooling.
• Collaborate with SREs and data center teams to build fast, robust APIs.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, test coverage and deployments.
• Apply information security principles to engineering decisions.
• Communicate with team leads and stakeholders.
