About the Role

As Senior Backend Developer in the Product team, you are responsible for building new features and maintaining the current ones. This involves diverse tasks from gathering requirements and giving feedback on technical feasibility to working closer to the machine learning team to bring the power of our AI to the product.

We build products, APIs, frameworks and world-leading deep learning NLP technology.

Our Stack And How We Work:

• Programming language: Python
• Frameworks: FastAPI, Flask, Django
• Databases and data stores: PostgreSQL, Redis
• Cloud providers: Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure
• Events and asynchronous tasks: Celery, NATS, Temporal

Key Responsibilities

• Develop systems and contribute to scaling our API to manage increased traffic from new customers effectively.
• Work to maintain high code quality and reduce production bugs, helping to create a seamless and reliable user experience.
• Design and implement maintainable, high-performance server-side code, continuously enhancing our API technology stack.
• Actively participate in code reviews, supporting the team’s commitment to clean, readable code and concise documentation.
• Engage with different areas of the company to gather the insights needed for well-rounded solutions.
• Contribute to the development of the next generation of agentic skills and flow builder, collaborating with the Machine Learning team to integrate advanced AI features.
• Share learnings and best practices in software development, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and growth within the team.

About You

• 5+ years working with Object-Oriented Programming Languages, with strong experience in building and optimizing backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with relational/SQL databases, ensuring efficient and reliable data management.
• Well-versed in software engineering essentials such as automated testing, build pipelines, deployment pipelines, and ensuring code reliability and reproducibility.
• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker is a requirement.
• You are highly motivated to deliver exceptional outcomes for our customers and keep the big picture in mind to proactively identify and solve issues.
• Thriving in agile environments, you bring flexibility and adaptability to every project.
• You have at least a good notion of agile software development, and practices like Test-Driven Development, Pair Programming etc don’t scare you - on the contrary, they excite you.
• You enjoy sharing your work and insights with others, fostering knowledge exchange and team growth.
• Known for your reliability, you meet deadlines and excel in both familiar and challenging new projects.
• If you know Kubernetes, that’s a big plus! (But not required.)
• Professional proficiency in both written and spoken English.
