Job summary

Moon Intelligence is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the backend & infrastructure. You will work on AWS-based production systems, balancing cloud infra responsibilities with hands-on software development in Java/Spring Boot or Python.

The role offers a hybrid/remote model with potential London office collaboration. You will contribute to reliability, security and scalability while delivering high-performance platforms for sports betting and prediction markets.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial software engineering in Java/Spring Boot or Python.
• Hands-on AWS experience with production infrastructure ownership.
• Experience with containers and infrastructure as code.
• Good understanding of CI/CD, monitoring and observability.
• Cloud networking, IAM and security knowledge.
• Ability to work autonomously in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of AWS infrastructure including reliability, security and performance.
• Develop and maintain production software in Java/Spring Boot or Python.
• Manage containerised services, deployment pipelines and infrastructure as code.
• Improve monitoring, observability and incident response.
• Identify and resolve production issues across infra and app code.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve architecture, reliability and maintainability.
