E.ON UK is seeking an experienced Backend Chapter Lead to shape the future of backend engineering. You will lead Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers, set the technical vision, and guide architecture and cloud infrastructure across services and data pipelines.

You’ll stay hands-on with code, drive DevOps practices, and collaborate with Product and Technology leaders to balance delivery priorities, debt, and platform health.

Qualificações

• Significant software engineering experience with leadership of large teams.
• Deep backend engineering, distributed systems, microservices and cloud infra.
• Experience in Python, FastAPI and AWS is highly desirable.
• Ability to set technical strategy and multi-year roadmaps.
• Communicates effectively across executives and engineering teams.
• Familiar with DevOps, platform engineering and CI/CD.

Responsabilidades

• Lead, coach and develop Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers.
• Set the technical vision and long-term backend roadmap.
• Hands-on work with architecture, incidents and proofs of concept.
• Drive engineering excellence: standards, DevOps, CI/CD and quality.
• Partner with Product/Tech to balance priorities, debt and reliability.
• Influence at executive level on technology strategy and budgets.
