Job summary

Commify is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to own complex backend services and database systems. You will drive architectural decisions, elevate engineering standards, and mentor the next generation of engineers while collaborating with Product Owners to shape meaningful outcomes.

You will work in an agile, hybrid environment across the UK, with a focus on Azure-based platforms, security, performance, and cost-efficiency.

Qualifications

• Strong backend design and implementation skills in C#/.NET.
• Experience with distributed architectures and messaging patterns.
• Solid SQL skills and cloud platform experience (Azure).
• Testing discipline for unit and integration tests.
• Pragmatic AI usage in development processes.
• DevOps mindset with experience in CI/CD and Git workflows.
• Clear communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and refactor complex backend services and databases.
• Lead architectural decisions and elevate engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers and drive code reviews across the team.
• Collaborate with Product Owners to shape acceptance criteria.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and observability.
