Job summary

Portfoliobi is seeking a Senior Azure & Microsoft 365 Platform Engineer in London to own the Azure platform, overseeing identity, access governance and security operations. You will collaborate with partners, refine architecture, and improve monitoring, automation and cost control.

The role focuses on enterprise-scale platform engineering, disaster recovery exercises, and securing cross-platform identities across Azure and M365. Hybrid work with cutting-edge tech awaits.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, including platform engineering and security configuration.
• Experience in production environments with cloud architecture, engineering and operations.
• Knowledge of Entra ID, Conditional Access, Azure RBAC, PIM and IAM governance.
• Practical Azure networking, ingress, compute and database experience including backup/restoration.
• Experience with disaster recovery, RTOs/RPOs and regional failover.
• Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights, including alerting.
• Terraform, Azure DevOps CI/CD, scripting and policy enforcement.
• Excellent technical documentation and runbook skills.
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Azure subscriptions, landing zones, networking, compute, databases and M365 tenant config.
• Validate deployed infra against architecture and security requirements.
• Review Entra ID, conditional access, RBAC, PIM and identity governance; manage access reviews.
• Reconcile permissions across Microsoft 365, Azure and apps; oversee Key Vault and secret rotation.
• Improve disaster recovery with runbooks, backups, replication and regional failover.
• Enhance service-health monitoring using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights.
• Troubleshoot production issues, maintain runbooks and technical docs.
• Maintain Terraform configurations, state and automation; support Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Apply Azure Policy and guardrails; manage tagging, cost telemetry and access.
• Act as internal counterpart to external providers and communicate risks and recommendations clearly.
