Job summary

E.ON Next in London is looking for a Senior to Staff Software Engineer to join our Engineering team and help us build technology that changes how people use energy. You will design and evolve scalable full-stack applications with Python and AWS, taking a serverless-first approach to robust cloud solutions.

You will lead through technical excellence, mentor peers, and collaborate with Product, Data, Front-end, Platform, Security and Design teams in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Senior Engineer, Staff Engineer or Team Lead.
• Strong experience with Python or equivalent language and willingness to develop in Python.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL.
• Experience with AWS or cloud-native design and architectures.
• Excellent software design, debugging and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and evolve scalable full-stack apps using Python and AWS.
• Adopt a serverless-first approach for robust cloud solutions.
• Plan, build, test and release new features and experiments.
• Tackle complex, large-scale systems and data challenges.
• Provide technical leadership within your squad and mentor engineers.
• Promote modern engineering practices: TDD, automated tests, code reviews.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, Front-end, Platform, Security and Design teams.
