Job summary

Rullion - Eon is seeking a Senior Backend Python Engineer to join a dynamic energy provider in the UK. The role is hybrid with one day per week in London, full-time at 37 hours per week, initial six-month contract with potential extension.

You will build backend services using Python on AWS, adopting a server-less-first design within an agile team, and collaborating with product designers, data, frontend, platform, and security teams to deliver scalable cloud applications.

Qualifications

• Senior backend developer with proven hands-on experience.
• Strong Python proficiency on backend systems.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL.
• Git version control and collaboration practices.
• Familiar with TDD and pair programming.
• Comfort working in an agile team and cloud-native architectures.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend backend services in Python on AWS.
• Contribute to full-stack cloud apps in a hybrid, agile environment.
• Design, test, and deploy new features and experiments.
• Participate in code reviews and pair programming.
• Work with Product, Data, Front-end, Platform, and Security teams.
• Tackle large-scale data processing challenges.
