Job summary

Microlise is seeking a Senior AWS Data Engineer on a 12-month fixed term contract to build the data foundations behind analytics and AI products. You will work hands-on with a modern AWS data platform, transforming operational data into governed, reusable data products across dashboards, APIs and self-service analytics.

You will design, implement and optimise lakehouse pipelines on AWS, ingesting data from operational systems and enabling scalable, governance‑driven analytics with strong lineage

Qualifications

Hands-on experience designing and delivering data engineering solutions on AWS.
Strong SQL, Python and dbt skills for scalable pipelines and reusable datasets.
Understanding of lakehouse architectures, medallion patterns, data quality and governance.

Responsibilities

Design, build and optimise AWS-based data pipelines and lakehouse structures for analytics products.
Ingest and transform data from multiple sources with batch, streaming and API patterns.
Embed governance, metadata, lineage and data contracts from the start to ensure trust.
Collaborate with architecture, platform engineering and analytics teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
