Job summary

SR2 | Socially Responsible Recruitment | Certified B Corporation is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to support a secure cloud-hosting platform used across a major public-sector programme. This is a senior, hands-on role focused on cloud integration, identity security, DevSecOps and technical assurance.

The role offers remote-first working with adhoc onsite in London, is inside IR35 and long-term potential from a 6-month contract with extensions.

Qualifications

• Strong AWS cloud and security architecture experience.
• Experience designing secure, resilient enterprise cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of identity and access management (Microsoft Entra ID).
• Experience with privileged identity management and conditional access.
• Infrastructure as code experience with Terraform.
• DevSecOps practices and security automation in CI/CD.
• Cloud logging, monitoring and threat-detection capabilities.
• Ability to communicate architecture designs clearly.
• Stakeholder-management and technical-assurance experience.
• SC essential and NPPV3 clearance desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide architecture oversight across an AWS-hosted platform.
• Translate business needs into technical and security requirements.
• Produce high-level designs and architecture decisions.
• Review solution designs and supplier proposals.
• Lead resolution of architecture and platform issues.
• Identify technical risks and security weaknesses.
• Design secure integration between Microsoft Entra ID and AWS.
• Develop conditional-access and privileged-access policies.
• Improve resilience and availability of identity services (Keycloak, OTP).
• Embed automated security controls into Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Design security monitoring using AWS Security Lake, CloudWatch, Defender for Cloud.
• Support threat detection through logging and alerts.
• Share knowledge and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
