Standard Life plc is seeking a Principal Cloud Architect to act as the senior technical authority for cloud architecture across RS&AM Engineering in London. You will shape cloud-native patterns on AWS, define architecture standards, and drive scalable, secure solutions.

The role reports to the Head of Cloud Platform within Engineering & Transformation. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on AWS expertise, experience leading multiple teams, and a track record of setting technical direction

Qualifications

• Senior cloud architect with AWS expertise and leadership experience.
• Ability to set architecture direction across multiple teams.
• Experience defining reference architectures and implementation patterns.

Responsibilities

• Define and own cloud architecture direction across RS&AM, aligning with platform strategy.
• Act as senior AWS authority for complex design decisions and standardisation.
• Design, build, and deploy reference architectures and blueprints for scalable delivery.
• Define and evolve cloud standards and guardrails for secure, resilient AWS solutions.
• Embed security, resilience, and control requirements into architecture across engineering teams.
