Job summary

SR2 Consulting in London is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to design and maintain automated testing embedded in CI/CD pipelines, bringing quality, security and confidence into the software delivery lifecycle.

You’ll work with Software Developers, DevSecOps Engineers and QA specialists to build robust automation frameworks, test microservices and containerised applications, and shift quality left throughout the development process.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience as Automation Test Engineer, SDET, QA Automation Engineer or similar.
• Experience testing microservices and containerised applications.
• Strong Docker knowledge.
• Experience creating and maintaining automation frameworks using PyTest, Playwright, Selenium or Robot Framework.
• Experience integrating automated tests into GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain automated unit, API, integration, functional and end-to-end test suites.
• Develop reusable and scalable test automation frameworks and libraries.
• Test Python 3.13+ and containerised applications.
• Embed automated testing into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Build automated regression, performance and load testing.
• Translate user stories and acceptance criteria into automated test coverage.
• Apply risk-based testing to prioritise coverage and identify gaps.
• Partner with developers to ensure testability in APIs and microservices.
• Support testing of infrastructure-as-code and deployment configurations.
• Provide reporting on test coverage and pipeline health.
