Job summary

Cohere is seeking a Senior/Staff Engineer to build and maintain automation infrastructure powering the North platform. This role will design robust systems enabling engineers to test and validate changes across diverse environments and configurations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on automation and testing infrastructure.
• Expert proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
• Extensive experience with GitHub workflows and actions.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Containerization experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong background in developer tools or platform engineering.
• Ability to design and implement complex automation systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation pipelines across environments with varied feature flags.
• Create intelligent testing agents simulating real user behavior.
• Develop and maintain GitHub workflows to automate testing and deployment.
• Manage Helm charts for deployment consistency.
• Implement ArgoCD workflows for CD and environment management.
• Establish testing best practices across engineering teams.
• Build scalable infra enabling parallel test execution.
• Develop IaC templates for reproducible test environments.
• Implement containerization strategies for test environments.
• Create benchmarking frameworks for performance/reliability.
• Monitor test coverage and reliability metrics.
• Collaborate with product/engineering to translate needs into automation.
• Troubleshoot complex testing infra issues.
