Job summary

Automation Experts in Leicestershire is seeking an Automation Engineer to lead site-wide automation initiatives. The role combines hands-on problem solving with longer-term capability building, focused on reliability and reducing downtime across a high-speed production environment.

Requires strong Siemens PLC experience, MES/network knowledge and a background in FMCG/manufacturing. Travel and occasional out-of-hours support may be required; salary £55-60k plus benefits including BUPA, 5% bonus

Qualifications

• Experience in FMCG, manufacturing or production environments.
• Background in manufacturing engineering / maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliability, safety and performance of automation systems.
• Deliver CAPEX projects from concept to handover, on time and within budget.
• Manage automation upgrades, installations and obsolescence programs.
• Work with contractors, suppliers and internal teams on project delivery.
• Maintain automation standards, documentation and system compliance.
• Support training and development of site teams in automation systems.
• Ensure all work meets Health & Safety, environmental and statutory requirements.
