Job summary

Synergi Search & Select Ltd in Slough is seeking a Lead Maintenance Engineer to join a highly automated FMCG facility. You will lead maintenance across production lines, fault-find PLC-controlled equipment and drive reliability improvements.

The role offers £60,000-£65,000 base, plus annual bonus, pension, overtime, call-out allowance, and ongoing training. You will also lead projects, manage the engineering team and support capital investment programs.

Qualifications

• Experience as Lead Maintenance Engineer or similar role in manufacturing.
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills.
• PLC fault-finding experience in manufacturing/production environments.
• Experience on automated machinery and production lines.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement and reliability techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead engineering initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance activities across a highly automated manufacturing facility.
• Fault-find and repair PLC-controlled production equipment.
• Support and improve automation, controls and electrical systems.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Drive continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
• Improve machine uptime, efficiency and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Support engineering projects, equipment upgrades and new installations.
• Manage PLC backups and control system documentation.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the engineering team.
• Participate in the engineering call-out rota.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Lead Maintenance Engineer to join a highly automated manufacturing facility in Slough.
This role would suit a Lead Engineer, Senior Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer, Automation Engineer, Controls Engineer, PLC Engineer or Reliability Engineer looking to join a business that is investing heavily in its people, equipment and automation capabilities.
Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will take a leading role in maintaining and improving production equipment, supporting automation systems, driving reliability improvements and delivering engineering projects across the site.
