Job summary

Staffline is seeking a Lead Controls & Automation Engineer to join a central electrical team at a major manufacturing site in the North West. You will lead automation projects, design PLC/SCADA solutions and set engineering standards.

The role is site-based, with a salary target £60,000–£70,000 plus a 10% bonus, healthcare benefits and car use for business. You will work with Siemens/Rockwell platforms and drive automation strategy across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering automation projects in a manufacturing environment.
• PLC programming experience and control systems design.
• Experience with Siemens and/or Rockwell PLC platforms.
• Capex/automation project delivery experience.
• Ability to challenge suppliers and drive engineering standards.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple sites and projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation elements of capital investment, from concept through commissioning.
• Design and specify PLC, SCADA and automation solutions.
• Develop and maintain automation engineering standards and specifications.
• Coordinate with suppliers and system integrators to deliver reliable automation solutions.
• Mentor and coach Automation Engineers; support OT architecture and future digitalisation initiatives.
