Job summary

Citi Belfast is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join the Securities Finance Technology team. You will architect and deliver frameworks, libraries, and CI/CD infrastructure enabling the engineering team to deliver high-quality software quickly.

The role requires senior level expertise in building scalable developer tooling, testing libraries, and AI-powered development tooling, with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and collaboration across engineering, operations, and business

Qualifications

• Eight or more years in a technical software development role with production-grade systems
• Ability to architect scalable applications, developer frameworks, or shared tooling from scratch
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns in real-world systems
• Hands-on experience with integrating AI tools in software development or testing contexts
• Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Clear communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience collaborating in agile teams across engineering, operations, and business analysis functions

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain scalable frameworks, testing libraries, and internal tooling
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to optimise build, test, and deploy lifecycle
• Engineer automation to reduce manual steps across the development lifecycle
• Research and integrate AI-powered tools to boost productivity and test effectiveness
• Translate complex requirements into well-documented, testable framework designs
• Lead code reviews and promote best practices for code quality and design standards
