About the role

As part of the QA team, the Senior Automation Engineer will work across a variety of projects to improve processes and quality standards, focusing on creating and automating the quality assurance of our customers' platforms.

We have an extensive automation test platform in place and seek a person who will help drive innovation and performance across our projects and products. This is a highly technical role with a direct impact on CDS's success.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver automated testing for software projects in collaboration with your team.
• Contribute to development discussions and work on multiple projects, including core development, bespoke client requests, and performance QA.
• Stay updated on automation development technologies.
• Support the entire test development spectrum and own complex tasks.
• Produce quality code, peer-review pull requests, and promote quality standards.
• Analyze server logs to assist in troubleshooting performance issues with dev-ops engineers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in an agile environment.
• Support mid-level and junior testers across manual, automation, and performance testing, including apprentices.
• Participate in planning sessions with clients and Business Analysts to define work scope.
• Monitor trends and identify opportunities for improvement within CDS.

Requirements

We expect a high level of technical expertise, including:

• Experience with cloud technologies like Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
• Practical skills with tools such as Visual Studio Test Manager, Selenium, SpecFlow, Visual Studio Performance Profiler, and OWASP Testing Tools.
• Understanding of SDLC, STLC, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of JIRA and Microsoft Azure DevOps.
• Proficiency with performance testing tools like k6, LoadNinja, or Neoload.
• Strong root cause analysis skills.
• Understanding of system architecture and performance issues.
• Deep knowledge of core testing tools and methodologies.
• Experience testing desktop, mobile, and bespoke applications.
• Awareness of accessibility standards and testing guidelines.
