Job summary

Morson Group is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to own and improve the client's automated testing approach. This hands-on role requires building and enhancing automation frameworks, setting strategy and direction.

You will collaborate with Engineering, QE and Product teams to enhance test coverage, strengthen CI/CD integration, and mentor colleagues while exploring how AI can boost testing effectiveness in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Automation Engineer, SDET or equivalent.
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript.
• Solid knowledge of API testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience building, maintaining and improving automation frameworks.
• Confident communicator able to influence stakeholders and mentor others.
• Proactive, pragmatic and autonomous in evolving environments.

Senior Automation Engineer

Salary: Up to £65,000
Location: Remote, with one day per quarter in either the Bradford or Ellesmere Port office

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to take ownership of and improve a clients automated testing approach. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who has built and enhanced automation frameworks, knows what good looks like, and is ready to take greater ownership of strategy and direction.

You’ll work closely with Engineering, Quality Engineering and Product teams to improve test coverage, strengthen CI/CD integration and drive a proactive approach to quality. You’ll also mentor colleagues, influence best practice and explore how AI can improve testing effectiveness.
