As an Automation Engineer, you’ll lead and support the delivery of full project lifecycles, from control system design and specification to commissioning and technical support, on complex lifting systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Programming, fault-finding, and support of PLC and electrical control systems
Development and review of PLC logic, FDS documents, and design specifications
Retrieval and reverse engineering of existing PLC code
Preparation of documentation, workpacks, and certification
Creation and execution of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with client representatives
Full project engineering and management of automation scopes
Conduct onshore and offshore site surveys and commissioning
Ensure adherence to HSEQ standards and contribute to safe systems of work
Provide clear technical instruction to project personnel and subcontractors
Degree or equivalent in Automation, Electronics, or Mechatronics (HND/HNC/NVQ Level 3 with experience also considered)
Hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal
Working knowledge of SCADA systems
At least 5 years' experience designing and maintaining PLC/electrical systems
Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills
Strong understanding of offshore HSEQ standards
Familiarity with crane and lifting systems (onshore or offshore)
Proficient in MS Office software including Excel, Project, and Word
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
