Job summary

Safran in the United Kingdom seeks a Senior Automation & Controls Engineer to lead automation projects from concept through deployment. You will develop and improve automated manufacturing equipment and processes, while collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to deliver cutting-edge automation solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience in Automation, Controls, Robotics, Industrialisation or Manufacturing Engineering.
• PLC programming and integration experience (Siemens, Allen Bradley or similar).
• Knowledge of industrial networks, machine safety and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with robotics, machine vision and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, NX or similar).

Responsibilities

• Lead automation and controls projects from concept through to implementation.
• Develop and improve automated manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Create technical documentation, schematics and process controls.
• Train maintenance and production teams on automated equipment.
• Support equipment commissioning, fault finding and continuous improvement activities.
• Work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver automation solutions.
