Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Authorised Person for UK-based power installation projects up to 132kV. The role involves delivering authorised person duties, switching operations, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance on site.

Key requirements include SAP authorisations 33kV–132kV, experience in distribution/transmission projects, and strong stakeholder management. Travel nationwide and stay-away commitments may apply.

Qualifications

• Current or previous SAP authorisations from 33kV up to 132kV.
• Experience on power distribution, transmission, ICP or utility infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of HV safety rules and switching procedures.
• Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.

Senior Authorised Person (33kV to 132kV)

Our client, a leading power infrastructure contractor, is currently seeking an experienced Senior Authorised Person to join their team on a permanent basis. This role will support the delivery of major power installation and connections projects across the UK, spanning distribution and transmission networks up to 132kV.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out Senior Authorised Person duties on networks from 33kV to 132kV
• Undertake switching operations and issue safety documentation in line with DNO and ICP procedures
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with industry regulations and company standards
• Support the planning and delivery of installation and connections projects up to 132kV
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to operational teams on site
• Liaise with clients, project teams and network operators to ensure safe project delivery
• Maintain accurate operational and safety records
• Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities

Job Requirements:

• Current or previous SAP authorisations from 33kV up to 132kV
• Experience working on power distribution, transmission, ICP or utility infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of HV safety rules, switching and operational procedures
• Experience supporting installation and connections projects
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away from home when required
