Buckinghamshire Council is seeking a Senior Auditor to join the Internal Audit service within its Business Assurance team in Aylesbury. The role focuses on delivering complex, risk‑based audits across a wide range of services, providing independent assurance, insight and challenge to strengthen governance and risk management.

You will develop audit plans, mentor junior staff and collaborate with managers to implement practical recommendations that improve performance and compliance.

• Significant experience in internal audit or assurance.
• Knowledge of audit methodologies and governance frameworks.
• Ability to assess complex risks and evaluate control effectiveness.

Responsabilités

• Deliver complex risk-based audit assignments across the Council and external clients.
• Assess risks and develop practical recommendations that add value.
• Contribute to the annual audit plan and service improvements.
• Provide guidance and support to junior audit team members.
• Monitor whistleblowing hotline and Audit mailbox and meet deadlines.
