Job summary

Autograph Specialist Recruitment is seeking an Audit Responsible Individual (RI) based in Plymouth. The role leads and develops the audit department within an established accountancy practice, managing a substantial portfolio and acting as the main client contact.

You will identify opportunities to win new work and work with leadership to grow the firm. The successful candidate will demonstrate ACCA/ACA/CA qualifications, Senior Manager experience, and a proven track record in leading audit

Qualifications

• ACCA, ACA or CA qualification required.
• Senior Manager level experience in an accountancy practice.
• Experience managing an audit portfolio and RI responsibilities.
• Proven experience leading and developing teams.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting and auditing standards.
• Strong communication and business development skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and deadline management.
• Familiarity with Caseware/Datasnipper/IRIS beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the audit team, supporting its performance and growth.
• Manage a substantial audit portfolio and act as key client contact.
• Identify, pitch for and win new audit work.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to grow services.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to promote audit services.
• Oversee department profitability and financial performance.
• Maintain high technical and regulatory standards in audit work.
• Take responsibility for risk management on engagements.
• Develop and improve services, processes and use of technology and AI.
• Provide leadership, coaching and support to team members.
