Job summary

Ballards LLP in Worcester is seeking an Audit Senior to join our growing team. You will lead statutory audit engagements for UK clients, working closely with Managers, Directors and Partners to deliver high-quality outputs.

The role involves planning, fieldwork, and reporting, mentoring trainees and maintaining strong client relations, with opportunities to develop leadership and technical skills within a collaborative firm.

Qualifications

• Essential ACA or ACCA qualification.
• Demonstrable external statutory audit experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Experience leading audit fieldwork and supervising junior colleagues.
• Good working knowledge of UK auditing standards and financial reporting frameworks.
• Experience managing client relationships and delivering assignments to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion with manager oversight.
• Plan and coordinate assignments, allocate work to team members and monitor progress against deadlines.
• Identify audit risks, perform and review procedures and document findings.
• Prepare and review audit working papers in line with UK standards and firm methodology.
• Review financial statements and disclosures against UK reporting requirements.
• Act as principal day-to-day client contact, communicating progress and resolving queries.
