Job summary

Sopher + Co is looking for an experienced Audit & Accounts Supervisor to join our Borehamwood team. The role is client-facing and involves delivering high-quality assurance services across a diverse client portfolio while supervising junior staff.

The ideal candidate will have ACA or ACCA qualification, strong supervisory skills, and solid experience with audit software and MS Excel. Expect a dynamic, collaborative environment with opportunities for growth and development.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification with advanced professional experience in accounting practice.
• Strong supervisory, leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across clients, staff and management.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring compliance with legislation and firm standards.
• Act as first point of contact for allocated clients and manage information flow.
• Supervise and develop junior team members; coordinate audit teams to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Prepare audit planning memoranda, programmes and budgets, and identify key audit risks.
• Prepare audit reports, management letters and closing reports.
• Stay up to date with developments in audit, accounting, taxation and relevant software.
