Job summary

Saffery LLP in Bournemouth is seeking an experienced Audit Senior Associate to join the audit and accounts team. ACA/ACCA qualified with audit experience and a practical, commercially minded approach to client work.

You will lead fieldwork, plan audits, supervise junior staff, and coordinate with other teams to deliver a joined-up service. The role offers a hybrid working model with some travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA qualified audit experience, including planning and completion.
• Good knowledge of UK GAAP; IFRS would be beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in accounts preparation.
• Proven track record in supervising junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Full planning; identifying risks, setting materiality and designing appropriate tests.
• Leading a team on audit fieldwork, with a focus on development of the team and delivering a positive client experience.
• Detailed audit work, taking ownership for decisions and conclusions made through professional judgment.
• Good understanding of audit requirements, ensuring professional scepticism is applied and appropriate documentation made.
• Developing a rapport with clients to deliver effective audits and accounts.
• File completion, including summarising key audit findings for the partner's attention.
• Regular and effective communication with manager and team throughout audit process.
• Responsibility for budgetary control and keeping manager informed thereon.
• Liaising with other Saffery teams, such as corporate tax, to ensure we provide a joined-up service.
• Reviewing the work of more junior team members.
• Working across client sites, as well as in the office and from home
