Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 audiologist to lead the transformation and operational management of the adult hearing aid service in the audiology department. The postholder will line-manage audiologists and assistants, conduct appraisals, oversee absence, and drive service development across community sites with flexible working.

You will perform advanced assessment and rehabilitation for complex patients, develop treatment plans, programme and evaluate

Qualifications

• BSc in Audiology or equivalent.
• Registration with AHCS as a Clinical Physiologist/Audiologist or HCPC as a Clinical Scientist.
• Senior NHS experience (Band 6 or above) and experience in training/mentoring others.

Responsabilités

• Lead transformation and operational management of the adult hearing aid service.
• Line-manage audiologists and audiology assistants, including appraisals and attendance.
• Lead one or more clinical areas of practice.
• Carry out routine and complex audiological assessment and rehabilitation, including patients with multiple disabilities.
• Analyse test results to reach differential diagnosis and medical opinions.
• Develop treatment plans and programme/evaluate hearing aids.
• Provide day-to-day clinic management and patient flow.
• Maintain governance, standards and drive service improvement.
• Write reports and maintain clinical records and databases.
• Mentor junior staff and act as contact for complex cases.
• Lead and participate in service change, audits and evaluation.
• Support research and CPD for registration.
