Job summary

Turner Property Recruitment is seeking a Senior or Associate Quantity Surveyor for its Project and Cost Management team in Altrincham, Greater Manchester. You will own multiple projects from feasibility through final account, advising commercially and aligning with client objectives.

You will lead commissions, manage client relationships, mentor juniors and work with Directors to drive growth in a growing consultancy. Masters provide APC support and BD input.

Qualifications

• RICS-accredited degree in Quantity Surveying.
• Minimum seven years’ post-degree experience.
• Strong consultancy-based Quantity Surveying experience.
• Ability to lead projects independently.
• Experience managing clients and project teams.
• Strong pre- and post-contract capabilities.
• Good working knowledge of JCT contracts.
• Excellent commercial awareness and communication skills.
• Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Leading multiple projects from feasibility through to completion.

• Preparing and overseeing estimates, cost plans and tender documentation.
• Producing pricing schedules in agreed formats.

• Undertaking contract administration, particularly using JCT contracts.
• Chairing meetings and ensuring actions are recorded, tracked and completed.
• Preparing fee proposals and agreeing scopes of service.
• Allocating resources and ensuring deadlines and quality standards are achieved.
• Reviewing team outputs for quality, accuracy and consistency.
• Mentoring junior colleagues and supporting their APC development.
• Contributing to business development and the strategic growth of the consultancy.

Turner Property Recruitment is working with a growing independent consultancy to recruit a Senior or Associate Quantity Surveyor for its Project and Cost Management team.

Established in 2020, the business provides joined-up planning, cost management and project management services from initial feasibility through to completion. It has developed an excellent client base and a strong pipeline of projects valued between £2 million and £200 million.

This is more than a traditional project delivery position. The successful candidate will lead commissions, manage key client relationships, mentor junior colleagues and work closely with the Directors to support the continued growth of the business.

The role

You will take ownership of multiple projects from feasibility through to final account, providing commercially focused advice that aligns with each client’s objectives.

About you

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• An RICS-accredited degree in Quantity Surveying

• At least seven years’ post-degree experience

• Strong consultancy-based Quantity Surveying experience

• The ability to lead projects independently

• Experience managing clients and project teams

• Strong pre- and post-contract capabilities

• Good working knowledge of JCT contracts

• Excellent commercial awareness and communication skills

• Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues

• A full UK driving licence and access to a car

MRICS status would be advantageous, although applications will also be considered from experienced Quantity Surveyors who possess the right technical ability, leadership qualities and commercial outlook.

Experience across residential, healthcare, hotels and leisure, industrial or commercial office projects would be beneficial.
