Job summary

Charles River Associates is seeking an Associate Principal for its European Competition Practice in London. You will lead economic analyses, work with attorneys and clients, and guide the development of expert reports across mergers, regulation and competition matters.

You will supervise junior staff, design complex models, and ensure high-quality, evidence-based recommendations while maintaining strong client relationships and input on hiring and mentoring within the team.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in economics or related discipline with strong academic record.
• Extensive and relevant experience (6–9 years) in economics/antitrust consulting.
• Understanding of economic concepts, competition/regulatory authorities and both quantitative and qualitative methods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience managing and developing teams of junior colleagues.
• Executive client presence and interaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with leading academics and attorneys on finance, strategy and economics issues.
• Conduct research in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Serve as a primary client contact and help create and present client deliverables.
• Conceptualize and design complex economic/financial models to analyze data.
• Oversee analyses in econometric software (Stata, SAS, R, Python).
• Manage the research process and mentor junior analysts.
• Ensure integrity and accuracy of analyses and opinions.
• Support recruitment and training of new colleagues.
